As soon as we arrive, we're greeted by the sight of a beautiful stone building nestled under towering oak trees. The gravel driveway winds up to the entrance, creating an immediate sense of peaceful seclusion. We’re welcomed by Jordy, the owner, who is not only friendly but also thoroughly knowledgeable about both the property and the local area.

One of the first things that strikes us about Stay Lagom is how intentional  everything is. The building, a former rectory, has been carefully renovated to blend modern luxury with the character of the original architecture. The house spans three stories, with each floor offering its own charm and features. For instance, the lower floor boasts a quaint little garden, directly accessible from one of the rooms. This intimate outdoor space is perfect for moments of quiet reflection, enjoying a cup of morning tea, or sipping an evening glass of wine.

What truly sets Stay Lagom apart is its commitment  to creating a community atmosphere while maintaining a sense of privacy and luxury. The property offers both options: you can rent individual rooms or take over the entire building. During our stay, we had exclusive use of the property, which was ideal for our team as we were there for a shoot. It felt less like staying in a hotel and more like gathering with friends in a beautifully curated home. Communal spaces, such as the top-floor lounge where we set up for styling, enhanced this sense of togetherness. The lounge had a serene atmosphere, with soft music playing in the background, making it the perfect spot to relax with a cup of peppermint tea.

Inside, the property continues to impress. Each room is equipped with en-suite bathrooms, ensuring privacy, while the house offers modern amenities without sacrificing its charm. The communal kitchen is fully stocked, perfect for groups or families wanting to cook their own meals. It’s clear that Stay Lagom is designed with flexibility in mind, catering to digital nomads, large groups, or individual travellers who want to experience the best of the North Coast while enjoying the comforts of a well-appointed home.

Perhaps what ties it all together is the property's ethos of sustainability. Stay Lagom is dedicated to minimising its environmental impact, from using biodegradable products to planting a tree for every reservation. This commitment adds a meaningful layer to your stay, knowing that your visit contributes to efforts that benefit both the environment and the local community.

At Stay Lagom, it’s easy to forget the hustle of everyday life. The quiet, natural surroundings, combined with the hotel’s thoughtful approach to sustainability, create  an idyllic retreat. Whether you're seeking a relaxing getaway or a base for exploring Northern Ireland’s stunning coastline, Stay Lagom is the perfect blend of comfort, community, and environmental consciousness.
