Kevin Germanier's Spring Summer 2025 collection, titled Les Désastreuses, delivered an explosion of colours and textures at Parking des Acacias, a fittingly mysterious venue that felt like an unconventional yet perfect backdrop for the showcase. Known for his eco-conscious approach, Germanier continues to impress with his daring designs and upcycling ethos, seamlessly blending sustainability with high fashion.
Fresh off the success of designing the costumes for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games closing ceremony, Germanier's Spring Summer 2025 collection didn't disappoint. The pieces were an extraordinary mix of bold hues, intricate beading, and standout embroidery, each garment boasting an exuberant sense of fun. There was a sense of celebration in the air, almost like a vibrant birthday party — complete with sparkling textures and electric colours that made each piece feel like a gift being unwrapped on the runway.
Notable among the models gracing the runway was La Grande Dame, a familiar face from Drag Race UK vs the World and Drag Race France. Her appearance added an extra layer of theatricality to an already spectacular show. Germanier’s choice of fabrics and details—whether in the form of recycled plastic curtains or remnants of VHS tapes — demonstrated his dedication to sustainability without sacrificing creativity or innovation.
The show culminated in a series of architectural curves and unexpected material choices that felt like a joyful rebellion against traditional fashion norms. It left everyone in attendance not just impressed but eagerly anticipating what Kevin Germanier will do next. His ability to blend exuberance with sustainability, and couture with playfulness, continues to set him apart as one of the most exciting voices in contemporary fashion.
